AI Audio Glasses OEM: What Brands Should Evaluate After the Latest Launches

An OEM buyer guide to camera-free AI audio glasses, detachable temples, prescription frames and brand-owned AI integration after recent audio eyewear launches.

For an eyewear brand, AI audio glasses can be a practical starting architecture when the customer needs music, calls or voice interaction without image capture or a display. The sourcing decision should cover frame fit, microphone and speaker performance, compatible lenses, the phone connection and the software service that delivers AI responses.

On September 23, 2026, Meta announced Ray-Ban Meta Audio as an addition to its smart-eyewear range. Its announcement highlights audio, everyday wear and prescription-compatible styles. This is a recent market signal for audio eyewear; it does not establish demand for every private-label product or imply that another manufacturer's platform includes Meta's software. Future Audio provides Verse audio platforms for model-specific OEM/ODM evaluation. The relevant question is which combination of frame, audio electronics and connected software suits your customer, rather than how closely a product resembles a major brand's launch.

Choose the frame architecture before choosing the AI features

A modular design can help an optical or fashion brand evaluate multiple compatible front frames around an audio platform. Verse Lite uses detachable audio temples. Verse Pro uses quick-release audio modules and compatible frame options, with a charging case for the modules. These are different mechanical arrangements and should be evaluated separately.

Interchangeability is subject to connector geometry, hinge strength, wiring, fit and approved frame compatibility. It is not a promise that the electronics can attach to any frame in an existing collection. Ask for an assembled sample and a separated-module demonstration using the actual proposed frames.

Fashion or optical collection

Sample evaluation
Review front-frame shapes, module finishes and compatible connections

Prescription use

Sample evaluation
Confirm lens mounting, prescription range and optical-laboratory fitting requirements

Calls and listening

Sample evaluation
Test speech pickup, speaker output and leakage with representative surroundings

Everyday wearing

Sample evaluation
Assess temple pressure, fit, hinge operation and comfort over the intended wearing period

Brand-owned AI

Sample evaluation
Verify permitted microphone access, app events and the proposed backend connection

Separate phone-assistant access from your own AI integration

Using an existing phone assistant is different from giving a brand-owned AI service access to voice input. A custom project needs a defined path from the microphone through the device and phone to the service, then back to the wearer through the speakers. Confirm the SDK methods and permissions required at each stage.

Camera and audio glasses have separate SDKs. Supported phone systems, app customization, wake words, offline commands and AI services are reviewed for the selected configuration. An offline wake word does not mean that cloud AI responses operate offline. SDK access also does not automatically include device firmware source code. See our integration review.

Camera-free does not mean recording-free

Audio eyewear still contains microphones. A buyer requiring no stored recordings should specify audio capture, upload, retention, deletion and user controls separately. Test the behavior of the delivered app and firmware rather than infer privacy from the absence of a camera.

For overseas launches, verify language and service availability with local phones and accounts. For example, Brazilian Portuguese interface support, speech recognition and translated responses are separate checks. Do not accept generic Portuguese support as proof that the full intended PT-BR workflow works.

Use a brief that turns the trend into a sample decision

Send your target customer, frame concept, lens requirements, phone systems, launch countries and essential audio or AI task. Include target quantity and the acceptable user workflow. Future Audio can review the brief against Verse One, Verse Lite and Verse Pro and identify the sample configuration and software questions to evaluate.

Our standard mass-production reference MOQ is 1,000 units; samples and smaller pilot quantities are reviewed separately. Price, lead time, engineering fees, compatibility and certification scope require a project quotation. Compare the platforms, review OEM/ODM options or request an audio-glasses sample quotation.
