Questions buyers ask about Scout One
Where we quote per project rather than publish a number, it is because the number would be wrong half the time — not to make you ask.
- What is the minimum order quantity for Scout One?
- The standard mass-production MOQ is 1,000 units. Orders below 1,000 require confirmation of supply, price and lead time for the selected configuration. Evaluation samples are handled separately; tell us the model, quantity and destination for a sample quotation.
- What can we customise on Scout One?
- Projects range from logo and packaging changes on an existing model to app integration, scoped firmware changes and new hardware design. Custom offline wake words are available on supported configurations, not as a standard feature on every model. Camera and audio lines use different SDKs; app access, supported functions, engineering fees and IP deliverables are agreed for the specific project.
- Can you handle CE, FCC and RoHS certification for Scout One?
- Yes, for this platform. Scout One is the certified platform: it carries a CE RED Verification of Conformity, two FCC Grants of Equipment Authorization (DSS and DTS) and a RoHS Verification of Conformity, all issued against model M-20. The certificate images are on our certifications page and the eleven full test reports — safety, EMC, RF exposure, radio, MPE, RoHS and GB 4943.1 — are sent by email on request. One thing to know up front: those certificates are currently issued to Shenzhen Mudu Technology Co., Ltd. under the trade mark MUEDO, not yet to the Future Audio entity. For your own market we arrange testing issued in your entity's name.
- How long does a sample take?
- It depends entirely on what changes. A sample built on this platform as it stands is a different job from one waiting on a new frame tool, so we do not publish a single figure that would be wrong half the time. Send the spec and we will come back with a date we can actually commit to. Samples ship from Shenzhen.
- Can the AI features work with our own model or backend?
- The AI behaviour that ships on this platform is what appears in the specification table above — nothing more is implied. Firmware and companion-app customisation are both in ODM scope, so whether your own model or backend can be wired in comes down to the chipset on this particular platform and what the integration needs to do. Send us the requirement and we will tell you straight whether this platform can carry it or whether another one fits better.
